semaglutide

SEMAGLUTIDE

Semaglutide is a medication consisting of a modifies version of the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) protein which is made by the body naturally; this protein is typically made in the intestines and causes a decrease in blood sugars as well as a decrease in appetite.

STARTING AT $300 PER MONTH

$50 consult fee (waived if product is purchased). $50 one time fee for supplies.
Monthly pricing will vary based on dosage requirements.

HOW DOES SEMAGLUTIDE WORK?

Semaglutide delays stomach emptying which leads to early satiety and smaller meal size. It also slows intestinal motility and lowers blood sugars, thus reducing the production of sugar in the liver and stimulates insulin secretion by the pancreas.

What results can I expect?

Semaglutide typically has great results, but these results can take time. On average a weight loss of 2-4 lbs. a month is to be expected and an average of 15% of your body weight (or more)! Keep in mind, these are on the lower end of averages and results vary for each person. Think about it—if you lost 4lbs a month that’s 48lbs in one year! This is life changing!

SEMAGLUTIDE FAQs

What if I miss a dose?

Take your dose as soon as you remember. If you want to change your administration date, just change it the following week.

What if I’m on a blood thinner?

If you are currently taking a blood thinner such as Lovenox, Xarelto, or Coumadin you need to check with your primary care provider before starting this medication.

If you smoke, you may need a higher dose…

Please know that if you are a smoker you may need a higher dose of medication as tobacco interacts with the absorption, distribution, metabolism, and elimination of a drug response.

Should I ever hold a dose?

If you have a surgery planned, this is a good time to hold a dose. Any surgery that requires you to go under anesthesia would require you to hold your dose for the week prior to your surgery. This is due to the delayed gastric emptying; you may take your dose as soon as your surgery has been completed.

You may also hold a dose if you are ill. For example, if you are not eating due to being ill or having nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea it would be beneficial to hold your dose. If this occurs and you are not sure what to do, please call to confirm.
